Polish artist, Alexandra Pacula moved to the United States when she was fourteen-years-old. In 2002 she received her Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers State University of New Jersey and later, received her Mast of Fine Arts from Montclair State University, also in NJ. Her paintings portray dynamic scenes of urban nightlife from which audiences may ascertain aspects of human interaction, seduction and desire. In 2010, she was awarded a Fellow in Painting from the New York Foundation for the Arts adding to her repertoire of awards including first place at the Saatchi Showdown Competition and the Robert Sterling Clark Visual Art Space Award. Pacula has exhibited her work across the United States and in London and Spain; she currently lives and works in New York City, the setting from which her paintings gather life and inspiration.
