Mitsushige Nishiwaki is a self-trained artist whose etchings depict various aspects of metropolitan environments. His choice of subject matter arose from his early European travels embarked upon with a Japanese industrial company. Mitsushige graduated from the University of Tokyo and later studied in Arizona receiving a graduate degree in Graphic Design. Further developing his skills as a graphic designer in New York City, Mitsushige has now returned to Tokyo, producing humorous images of Europe and the United States. Each print is unique and playful offering an outsider’s perspective of seemingly mundane settings.
